Engineering Alumni Council
Welcome Letter from the Engineering Alumni Council Chair
Dear Council Member,
On behalf of Wayne State University College of Engineering, it is my pleasure to welcome you as a new member to the Engineering Alumni Council. Whether you’ve spent recent years, or past years close to WSU, your campus community just got a lot bigger. Today, the Engineering Alumni Association is comprised of 25,000 members who live in every state, and 40 countries around the world.
The Engineering Alumni Council represents these members and serves as the college’s chief volunteer body, responsible for alumni volunteer programs, events, and communications. Our aim is to increase the value of a Wayne State engineering and computer science degree.
I hope you will remain a prideful alumni, and take full advantage of the great cultural, academic, and career focused opportunities and events we hold. Our programs provide the chance to volunteer time and expertise to support student learning and career preparation, as well as a great opportunity to connect with fellow engineering alumni.
The Engineering Alumni Council sponsors a variety of events to provide opportunities to connect through:
- Career Networking & Mentoring
- Educational Programs
- Volunteer Projects
Above all, I encourage you to take full advantage of these programs to create new friends and colleagues, stay in touch with your fellow classmates, and keep your connections to the university.
If you have suggestions for alumni events in your area or ideas for improving communication, please let me know by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations, or any member of the Engineering Alumni Council. I am eager to hear your thoughts, and suggestions. This is your Alumni Council, and we aim to make it great!
