Internships and job postings
The Department of Biomedical Engineering is pleased to offer a variety of internships in the field of biomedical research. Students accepted into any internship will earn 1-4 credits as part of the BME 6991 Internship Course. To fulfill the requirements of the internship, students must complete the following:
- Petition and Authorization for Internship Program in Industry form.
- A report summarizing your work experience and job duties. (Paper must be approved by your internship supervisor and graduate advisor).
Students may visit the College of Engineering's careers page for additional resources.
The BEST Program at Wayne State is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to assist doctoral trainees in exploring multiple career opportunities, not just those affiliated with university research settings. WSU is one of just 17 institutions nationwide to receive a BEST grant. BEST seeks to transform graduate education so that nonacademic careers are viewed as positive outcomes, neither "alternative" nor "second-best." Students can learn more about BEST via the Graduate School website.
