Research Opportunities

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has an active research program that aims to find innovative solutions to a wide range of infrastructural and environmental challenges faced by society. These research programs involve environmental, structural, and transportation engineering, as well as related disciplines such as environmental chemistry, materials science, and urban planning. Research projects in these areas are funded by a diverse range of sponsors, including federal, state and local governments, as well as private corporations. A sample of recent projects within each of these three primary research areas are included here.
