IT in the D is a new partnership between Wayne State and leading technology companies in downtown Detroit and local universities. The program is designed to transition students from the classroom to the workplace through real world IT projects, mentorship, and training. Its mission is to provide continued education and work experience for IT professionals as they advance their technology careers.

Dr. George Roberts, Ph.D. / ai5214@wayne.edu George Roberts is a scientist with entrepreneurial ambitions in bioinformatics, genetics, immunology/microbiology, and pharmaceutical sciences. Roberts is interested in developing new software technologies to help better uncover and communicate information. He holds a Ph.D. in Immunology/Microbiology, has done extensive post doctorial work in pharmaceutical sciences and is currently completing a master's in computer science. He is frequently published and sited in numerous articles. Roberts has done extensive work with relational databases and has led teams in developing a protein interaction map, designed databases for tracking thousands of clones and more than 500,000 experiments that resulted in the discovery of over four thousand novel protein-protein interactions through the use of high-throughput robotic methods. |

Brad Chaiken / brad.chaiken@gmail.com Brad Chaiken is third-year computer science student with a proven leadership and entrepreneurial track record. Every year he has been selected for one of the highest scholarship honors by the College of Engineering and the University Board of Governors. He has been instrumental as a technology teaching assistant, tutor, and mentor to younger students. He currently holds a student employment position within the university as a technology support engineer and is leading workshops on web development and programming. Chaiken is in the process of forming a company that develops web applications for small business B2B relationships. The focus will be developing marketing technology tools that help reveal hidden information and bridge the gap between the client and IT technologies. |

Pranab Chowdry / eq6986@wayne.edu Pranab Chowdry is a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and the recipient of the Robert T. Marshal award at Wayne State University. Chowdry is an avid designer and has significant experience in technology design tools. He currently serves as an upper-class mentor and tutor. Chowdry has shown incredible promise and passion in the art and science of both biomedical and mechanical design and continues to expand his repertoire into the coding world of automation design. |

Massuod H. Alatrash / massuodalatrash@yahoo.com Massuod Alatrash is incredibly experienced software engineer with phenomenal experience and entrepreneurial endeavors. He holds master's in computer science and is completing post graduate work. Alatrash has an eye for design and a love for entrepreneurship. He has been designing and developing software applications since 2006. He has expertise in multiple languages with an emphasis on Core JAVA. Alatrash has designed and developed search algorithms, created Java APIs, written novel code to parses proprietary data files, and created GUI components to ease client interaction using Swing classes. His front-end user interface modules use Java Swing and AWT tools to intelligently harvest information in multiple formats mining for specific data patterns. |

Dr. Eyad Hailat, Ph.D. / ay5379@wayne.edu Eyad Hailat is a renowned scientist and software developer in high performance and parallel programming devices. He is well published in developing code for Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) using CUDA C architecture for NVIDIA hardware. Hailat is an entrepreneur and has designed and developed scheduling software for an n-tier application to manage a clinic. Hailat is highly skilled in multiple languages, platforms, and frameworks, such as C/C++, Visual Basic .Net, Java, Pascal, Lisp, Prolog, PHP, SQL, PL/SQL, Unix, shell scripts, Python, CUDA Architecture, MPI parallel processing library. He has considerable experience with SQL server database design, tuning and indexing, Backup and Recovery and other developer activities like tables, views, stored procedures creation. Furthermore Hailat has skilled in web technology development using HTML, DHTML, CSS, PHP, and XML. |

Parviz Movahedan / pmovahedan@gmail.com Parviz Movahedan is completing his master’s degree in computer science and has significant and exceptional work experience as a software engineer. Movahedan is well versed in software design and development. He is highly skilled in multiple computer languages. He has designed and developed a CAD graphics engine to display machine cutter path coordinates in real world position for user visualization, and manipulation. In addition, using VB he designed and developed a configuration data structure intercept capable of automatically writing any information into an XML file. He has also programmed client server TCP/IP communication between a Mill computer and user controlled PC using C#. He has used C# and Visual Basic to Created multi-threaded loop to populate readout data. |

Dr. Juan Chen, Ph.D. / ej8568@wayne.edu Juan Chen is a scientist fluent in multiple languages and an expert in pathology and biomedical engineering. She is the recipient of the Thomas C. Rumble University Graduate Fellowship in the U.S. and was honored as the outstanding graduate and undergraduate student at the University of South China. Chen designed and developed a novel robotic arm controlled by a haptic device using Matlab and Ardurino open source microcontroller. Chen has entrepreneurial ambitions in developing new and novel medical devices to aid in the restoration and therapy of patients. |

Kowtiek is a budding entrepreneur and an avid outdoorsman, interested in marrying information technology to the active world campers, climbers, and mountaineers. |
