Computer science faculty members are leaders in their field, bringing real-world research experience into the classroom. For example, Assistant Professor Nathan Fisher, who received the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award, is developing algorithms and design tools that could result in even more powerful smartphones. And Associate Professor Hongwei Zhang recently received an NSF grant to build an experimental wireless networking infrastructure for research, education and application exploration right here in Detroit
