College to welcome alumni, friends to campus today for Ralph H. Kummler Commons Rededication Ceremony

DETROIT (Oct. 25, 2013) ­- The Wayne State University College of Engineering will welcome alumni and friends to campus today at 4 p.m. for its Ralph H. Kummler Commons Rededication Ceremony.

The ceremony honors the late Dean Kummler, a long-time chemical engineering professor and environmental expert who served as dean of the college from 2004 to 2009. It will feature the unveiling of a bronze bust of Kummler, which was recently commissioned by WSU College of Engineering alumnus and chair of its Board of Visitors, Jim Anderson.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow. Kummler Commons is nestled between the Engineering Building and the Marvin I. Danto Engineering Development Center on Warren Avenue.
