Electrical and Computer Engineering students receive Best Student Paper Award at IEEE Symposium

Xuechen Zhang and Yuehai Xu , electrical and computer engineering graduate students; as well as their advisor Song Jiang, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering; received the "Best Student Paper Award" at the 27th IEEE Computer Society Symposium on Massive Storage Systems and Technologies, held on May 23-27, 2011 in Denver, Colorado.

The award is given for "outstanding performance and lasting contribution" to the field. Their paper, "YouChoose: A Performance Interface Enabling Convenient and Efficient QoS Support for Consolidated Storage Systems" is also invited for publication in ACM Transactions on Storage (Volume 7, Issue 3), the premier journal for publishing advancements in storage research and practice.
