Nanonengineering professor's research to be featured at Defense Innovation Challenge

Wayne State University nanoengineering professor and chemical engineering chair Guangzhao Mao's research will be featured at the Defense Innovation Challenge during their 2016 meeting in Austin, Texas at the end of November.

The project, titled Nanowire Organic Sensors, will showcase small, lightweight sensors that are being developed for protecting soldiers and industrial workers against exposure to toxic vapors. The sensor technology was created by Mao, her students and technology consultants Nicholas Cucinelli, CEO of Endectra and Edward Kim of K5 Velocity Ventures.

The Defense Innovation Challenge brings together innovators and businesses to develop tools to improve defense technology and is attended by many branches of the government.
