What sets the REU site program apart?

The REU site program: Summer Academy in Sustainable Manufacturing's metropolitan location is in midtown Detroit, MI and is the heart of US automotive manufacturing. The site allows participants to experience the resurgence of Detroit, MI; interact with industry, and research sustainable manufacturing issues facing industry today.

What You Get!

Stipend: $600 per week for the 10 week experience ($6,000 total stipend).

Housing: Room and board in the Wayne State University dormitories (includes partial food/meal support on and near campus). Features include; Towers Café, free internet access including wireless, multiple social and study lounges, fitness facilities or laundry rooms on every other floor, green spaces around the building, and near Campus Health Center and FedEx/Kinkos.

Travel: $500 towards the cost of travel to and from Wayne State University. Wayne State University is easily accessible from the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Transportation to and from the airport and for field trips is provided by the program at no charge to the student.
