Nanda Kumar - Hall of Fame (2019)

Nanda Kumar, B.S. ’84, M.S. ‘91, has risen through the ranks at Eaton, a diversified power management company that provides energy-efficient solutions to customers in more than 175 countries. Nanda began his Eaton career in the Vehicle Group in 1990 and held positions of increasing responsibility including plant manager for the facilities in Roxboro, N.C., and Massa, Italy, and general manager for the Air Induction and Cylinder Head Systems business. In addition, he served as vice president and general manager for the specialty controls and valve actuation businesses, and as president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the Vehicle Group; and he served as the executive vice president of the Eaton Business System. Kumar played a key role in plant management and in developing Eaton's footprint in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) sector. His leadership has been instrumental in streamlining operations in business systems, manufacturing, supply chain, environmental, and health and safety. , In September 2015 he assumed his current role as president of Eaton's Aerospace Group, a world leader in the design, manufacturing and integration of innovations in hydraulics, fuel systems, motion control, and engine solutions. Kumar holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Bangalore University in India, a master's in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
