The diversity of our student community is one of Wayne State University's greatest strengths. We are committed to ensuring that each of our students not only has access to opportunities, but also to be seen as an exceptional candidate and a valued employee. We believe that an organization can only be at its strongest when opportunities are available to everyone, when different perspectives are sought out, and when decision making is inclusive of those perspectives. We support students in building the confidence to own and value their differences, and we require employers to adhere to the National Association of Colleges and Employers' (NACE) Principles for Professional Practice and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidelines as well as the guidelines set forth by Wayne State University.

As an engineering student, one of the most important things you will do is find an internship and/or a job. Most employers are seeking candidates that have some sort of experience, even for entry-level positions. The most straight-forward way to gain experience is through internship or co-op, but could also include hands-on activities in school. With such a strong emphasis on hands-on learning experiences, it is important to know how to find the best opportunities. The Engineering Career Resource Center can help you discover what resources are available to help you find an internship or a job.

Our mission

To provide in-depth professional development and career guidance to students and alumni of the College of Engineering in an effort to graduate high-performing, career-ready engineers and computer scientists.
