Larry Achram, Chair

Mr. Lawrence Achram, also known as Larry, is the Chief Engineer at Rivian Automotive Inc. He has served in this role since January, 2016. Mr. Achram is a well-respected automobile product development executive who has brought many major vehicles to market, including the Chrysler 300 and the first Jeep Grand Cherokee. He served as Vice President and General Manager of Insider eCar U.S. at Siemens and has been on Board of Advisor at Comet Solutions, Inc. since December 10, 2012.


Jim Anderson, ex-officio 

Mr. James A. Anderson, Jim founded Urban Science Applications, Inc. in 1977 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Anderson leads the global management team and sets Urban Science's strategic direction. Mr. Anderson formed Urban Science to satisfy the growing need of automakers and car dealers for the customer and demographic information. He actively involved in automobile dealer network planning for 30 years and also provides expert legal testimony on behalf of clients.


Shree Bedekar

Mr. Bedekar is the President and CEO of Yojna, Inc. (www.yojna.com). Mr. Bedekar has over fifty years of experience in the software industry, including senior management positions with a major computer manufacturer. Yojna, Inc. specializes in the creation and deployment of highly efficient solutions for the top banks and financial institutions in North America. Under their branding, these banks deliver digital financial data and documents to over 100,000 commercial customers.


Ted Dacko

Ted Dacko, founder of Arbor Dakota Strategies, LLC, has over 42 years of experience in executive-level management and leadership, including Sales, Marketing, M&A and the Chief Executive Office, principally in the area of software applications and solutions. As CEO of Arbor Dakota, he has been credited with taking great ideas and turning them into great companies. Ted is currently an independent consultant, mentor and board member to tech companies and serves on the board of meQuilibrium, Court Innovations, XLerant, GoNoodle, DNA Software and Possibilities For Change. He is an instructor at the University of Michigan in the Center for Entrepreneurship program.  He has authored a series of eBooks titled From Passion To Profit. He has been the keynote speaker at numerous events. Ted holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, and a Master's Degree in Mathematics from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.


Aida Dismondy

Mrs. Aida Dismondy is the founding attorney of Albex Law, PC, a boutique firm in service for small businesses and startups. She is fluent in business and has extensive experience in and knowledge of automotive industry and its supply chain management. Mrs. Dismondy is a member of the American Bar Association Business Law, International Law, and Dispute Resolution sections, a member of the State Bar of Michigan Business Law, International Law, and Dispute Resolution sections, and member of Washtenaw County Bar Association Business Law section.


Monte Falcoff

Mr. Monte L. Falcoff is a principal at Harness, Dickey, and Pierce, LLC in their Troy office, where he has worked for 20 years. He is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Falcoff's primary areas of practice include IP portfolio management, client counseling and opinion preparation, preparation and prosecution of patent applications, trademark prosecution, IP litigation, and licensing. 


Tel Ganesan

Mr. Tel K. Ganesan serves as Managing Partner and co-founder of Kyyba Ventures and serves as the Chairman of the Board there. Mr. Ganesan also serves as the President of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Detroit chapter. 


Shahriar Ghoddousi

Mr. Shahriar Ghoddousi serves as President, CEO, Vice Chairman, and Director of The John Henry Company. During his 26 years with the company, he has played key roles as Director of Management Information Systems, Vice President of Operations, Senior Vice President for Corporate Development; Mergers and Acquisitions and finally as the CEO. Besides his duties at The John Henry Company, he was also Chairman and CEO of Digital Label Alliance, a corporation focusing on digital printing technology, electronic pre-press and electronic data interface to suppliers.


Vineet Katial

Mr. Vineet Katial serves as Chairman and Managing Director of Krores Ltd. Mr. Katial has over 20 years of work experience. Before forming Krores Limited, he was the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Janeeva, Inc., where he played a leadership role in creating the Outsourcing Relationship Management (ORM) industry. He is an acknowledged thought leader in international business and is helping shape the emerging markets with his experiences and leadership.


Edward Kim

Mr. Kim is passionate about supporting early-stage technology ventures and empowering fearless entrepreneurs with tools and network to succeed. Mr. Kim is currently a partner at K5 Velocity Ventures and has an operational role as Chief Strategy Officer at BrainFx (named Top 20 Bio/Medical Technology by Global Health Pharma magazine). Mr. Kim held numerous executive, board advisor and founder roles in investor backed tech startups, as well as financial and engineering leadership assignments in North America, Europe and Asia with Fortune 100 companies. In addition to his management roles, Mr. Kim is an adjunct professor at Mike Ilitch School of Business Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programs and acting Managing Director of the Belinsky Entrepreneurial Leadership Lab (BELL). He also serves as a Mentor-in-Residence at WSU Technology Commercialization Office.


Charlie Moret

Mr. Charlie is the president and CEO of Invest Michigan, the Fund Manager for the $10.5 million Michigan Pre-Seed Fund 2.0.Before Invest Michigan, he was in a leadership role with TechTown-Detroit directing their tech-based entrepreneurial advisory services. Before TechTown and over a 13 year period at Connecticut Innovations, he founded and directed Connecticut's $20 million Pre-Seed Fund, CTech, an incubator in partnership with Yale University, University of Connecticut and the University of Bridgeport, TechStart, a technology venture accelerator and helped start-up the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund.

Mr. Nidamaluri Nagesh is the Vice President of Tech Mahindra company. He is an executive Manager at Automotive Manufacturing. Broad range of experience and depth in all fields of automotive manufacturing areas, Industrial Controls and Automation.


Dr. Satyendra Rana

Dr. Satyendra P. Rana serves as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Computational Research Laboratories Limited. At CRL, Dr. Rana is responsible for shaping and crystallizing its positioning in the High-Performance Computing space and the growth and expansion of its business worldwide through strategic partnerships, innovative solutions, and business models. Dr. Rana is a co-founder of Cynergy System Design, Inc. and serves as its Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Rana serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Inventes Inc. He is a serial entrepreneur and veteran of IT industry.


Jayashree Ravi

Mrs. Ravi, is the founder of Mobi, a program which trains students in mobile application development. She is also an advisory board member for the Anderson Engineering Ventures Institute at Wayne State University, which was founded in 2014 to encourage the formation of startup companies by engineering students. As an adjunct professor at Wayne State University, she teaches mobile app development. Previously she was a software engineer at Gale, a consultant with Xede Consulting Group and a software developer at Chrysler Corp. and Flagstar Bank. 


Ann Marie Sastry

Ann Marie Sastry is President and CEO of Amesite, an artificial intelligence software company focused on higher education. Dr. Sastry was previously President, CEO, Board Director and co-Founder of Sakti3, recognized as one of MIT's 50 Smartest Companies (2015), and as a Crain's Detroit Business Cool Places to Work winner (2017). Backed by a global team of venture capitalists, the company was acquired by Dyson in 2015 for $90M. Sastry was invited to the White House in 2015 to be recognized for her technology entrepreneurship, and meet with President Barack Obama. Her technology and business work have been featured in the WSJ, Fortune, Forbes, the Economist, USA Today, the New York Times and on the cover of Inc.

Prior to starting her companies, she was Professor of Mechanical, Biomedical and Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, which is ranked among the top 5 public universities in the nation. She was named an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor (UM's highest teaching honor) in 2008. Tenured and promoted early, Sastry was recognized with some of the highest honors in her scientific fields over her 17 year academic career, including the ASME Frank Kreith Energy Award (2011) and NSF's Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (1997). She founded two academic research centers in intracellular signaling (Keck Foundation) and advanced automotive batteries (GM / Department of Energy), and a global graduate program in Energy Systems Engineering. She has co-authored over 100 publications and 100 patents and filings, and has delivered over 100 invited lectures and seminars globally on a range of scientific and technology topics, spanning mathematics, physics, bioscience and electrochemistry. Sastry is active in philanthropy and business mentorship, with a focus on education and poverty alleviation. She holds PhD and MS degrees from Cornell University, and a BS from the University of Delaware, all in mechanical engineering.


Ned Staebler

Mr. Ned Staebler serves concurrently as TechTown's President and CEO and Vice President for Economic Development at Wayne State University. He previously served as the Vice President for Entrepreneurial and Capital Services at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for the oversight of the Michigan Strategic Fund Board and the 21st Century Jobs Fund, a $2 billion, 10-year initiative to transform Michigan's economy. Ned also spent nearly a decade in the private sector, working in both startup and Fortune 150 environments in the U.S. and London.


Eric Stief

Mr. Eric Stief serves as the Business Initiator for JPG Resources. He works with inventors to identify appropriate technology licensing opportunities for life science technologies. Mr. Stief has worked in corporate and academic technology-based business development since 1994. His areas of concentration have included research and development, mergers and acquisitions and new product and venture development. He was previously a researcher for Kellogg Corporation and a business planner for the FMC Corporation. 


David Weaver

Mr. David P. Weaver is Founder and Chairman of Great Lakes Angels. He previously served as President of the firm. He serves as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Blaze Medical Devices, LLC. He is a Founding Member and was a Member of the Board of Directors of Detroit MIT Enterprise Forum. His experience includes global profit and loss responsibilities at a division of Johnson & Johnson; turning around troubled business operations at a division of Warner-Lambert International N.V; and strategic planning, new product development, and directing domestic and international sales and marketing.
