College of Engineering to host legendary Trans Am Engineer

The Wayne State University College of Engineering will host legendary Pontiac engineer Herb Adams and author Dave Barnes on Friday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. in the Ford Activities Center, Danto Engineering Development Center (EDC). Barnes and Adams will discuss Barnes' book Blood, Sweat and Gears: The Story of the Gray Ghost and the Junkyard Firebird.

Adams created the 1969 Pontiac Trans Am while at General Motors and later became a very successful entrepreneur. The book chronicles the creation of the iconic car.

"This is a great opportunity for engineering students and all students interested in the automotive industry to hear from an expert with an incredible story," says Farshad Fotouhi, dean of the College of Engineering.

The first 25 students at the event will receive a free copy of the book. More information, visit the event listing.
