Ami Gadhia is a Sr. Technology Transfer and Patenting Specialist at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), a Center within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she negotiates agreements that allow for collaboration and translation of research. She also manages an intellectual property portfolio around NCATS inventions. Prior to NCATS, Ami worked at Johns Hopkins where she led a team of licensing professionals and managed her own docket of technologies, as a portfolio director for technology licensing.

Ami is a prolific speaker and an author of numerous articles on topics related to innovation and technology transfer. She has been recognized as a Leading Woman in Maryland and accorded numerous NIH and NCATS Director’s Awards for her contribution to significant public health initiatives and efforts. Ami is a certified licensing professional, is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. Ami received both her Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering and her Juris Doctorate, both with honors from Wayne State University. After that, Ami attended The George Washington University Law School where she earned her LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law.
