Jennifer Shinska started her career at General Motors in 1995 after graduating with a BS in Aviation Technology from WMU.  While working as a Quality Engineer in Manufacturing she attended Wayne State University and earned her MS in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Manufacturing in 1998.  Her career progressed at General Motors where she held various Management positions in Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering.  She is currently a Quality Chain Manager in a job share position for the Electrical Components & Hardware area.  She is a Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence through the American Society of Quality and is DFSS Black Belt Certified.

Jennifer has a passion for support females in engineering and participates in the GM Women Employee Resource Group, co-chairs the GM Electrical Components Women’s meeting and actively mentor’s female engineers at GM.  Jennifer also participates in the Culture Pillar for Diversity Equity and Inclusion in Engineering. 

Jennifer is an active member of Kensington church serving on the Marriage Mentor team.  She is married to John who she met at WSU (MS Mechanical Engineering Graduate) and they have two kids ages 16 & 17.
