Keyuna Evans is Corporate Counsel for Microsoft’s Marketing and Consumer Business. As an attorney, Ms. Evans advises and counsels a multi-million-dollar business, Modern Work Marketing for Small Commercial Business Segment. Prior to her role as Corporate Counsel, Ms. Evans worked as an IP (Intellectual Property) Associate with the Surface Team in Patent Portfolio Development. She expanded her knowledge of Intellectual Property by working closely with the engineers and attorneys to develop IP strategies, draft patent applications, Invention Disclosures (ID), participate in harvesting sessions, and patent case reviews. In addition to her involvement with the Surface Team, Ms. Evans offered patent counseling to potential inventors and managed the Patent Portfolio for Microsoft’s Corporate Division.
Prior to her career in law, Ms. Evans worked for several global automotive companies including Chrysler and Ford Motor Company. Ms. Evans also held positions with Automotive Tier 1 Suppliers, Federal Mogul, International Automotive Components (IAC), and Detroit Thermal Systems. She has contributed to the automotive industry in several roles -- Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer, and Warranty Engineer.
Working in diverse capacities in the automotive industry, enabled Ms. Evans to work effectively and respectfully with cross-functional teams, suppliers, OEMs, and Union Membership to collaboratively produce quality products for current and future consumers.
Ms. Evans is committed to education. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from University of Michigan-Dearborn, and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Ms. Evans has used her unique skills in law and engineering to represent Microsoft on a technology panel at the National Bar Association (NBA) Convention. She also served as a member of Washington State Lorne Miller Bar Association Judicial Panel, where she evaluated judicial candidates for judicial appointments. Ms. Evans also advocates for clients with the Seattle Clemency Project.
