Shannon Dare has worked for Ford Motor Company for over 20 years. She is currently a Supervisor in Global Product Planning & Strategy integrating Technology into future vehicles. Prior, she was responsible for Planning & Strategy for the Middle East & Africa region. Shannon completed Ford’s Manufacturing Leadership Program with rotations including: Production Line Supervisor, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Product Development Plant Resident Engineer, and 2007 National UAW – Ford Negotiations team.
Advancing women in technical fields is important to Shannon. She spent several years as co-chair of Ford’s Women in Product Development Mentoring Circles and has supported Ford’s Women in Manufacturing Mentoring program for over 15 years. Additionally, she is a lead campus recruiter securing interns and new college hires from Lawrence Technological University.
Shannon also makes time for her community of Milan, Michigan. She is Chairperson of the Milan Beautification Commission. Shannon is Secretary of Milan’s Downtown Development Authority/Milan Main Street aiding in her city’s revitalization and on the local elected Officials Compensation Board. Additionally, she is on the Parish Council of her local Catholic Church.
Shannon holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit. She also holds a B.S. in Industrial Management & M.S. Industrial Operations, both from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. Through the American Society for Quality, she is a Certified Manager of Quality and Certified Quality Auditor. Shannon is a past-president of Ford Toastmasters where she holds Advanced Leader Bronze & Advanced Communicator Silver certifications.
Shannon is married to Kevin Wayne and they have three active children. On most evenings and weekends, you can find her cheering for her kids at either the pool, football field, volleyball & tennis courts, or track.
