Uma Raghavan is currently Entrepreneur in Residence at Allen Institute of AI Incubator and as CEO/Founder working in stealth mode using AI for solving hard problems.  

Uma previously was Founder and  CTO of Integris, a Privacy related enterprise software company at Seattle that was acquired by OneTrust in June 2020. It was venture funded by Aspect Ventures, Workday Ventures, Madrona Ventures and Amplify Partners. Uma was the founding CTO responsible for the core technology vision of putting enterprise privacy at the intersection of core computer science constructs of microservices, containerization, distributed computing and machine learning. She hired and led the engineering team and was responsible for the architecture and the execution of the product roadmap. She was the technologist leader selling the Integris product to CTOs of large Fortune 500 companies in addition to helping raise funding from VCs.

Uma is a 25 year veteran technology executive with a successful track record of designing, building and operating large web-scale software systems for eBay, amazon, Microsoft, Walmart and Daimler Chrysler that intersects Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning with Cloud and Distributed Computing technologies. She also has significant experience leading very large engineering teams that built backend eCommerce systems such as Ordering, Payments , Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics.

At eBay, Uma was Director of Software Development and had a large leadership charter of running their entire Data Infrastructure stack that included Oracle, SAN for databases, NoSQL stacks,  Cloud Database Platforms stack on OpenStack, Messaging & Streaming technologies and BI/Analytics platforms that supported all of the eBay website and developers. She also spent over a year as Director of Incubations in eBay Research Labs focusing on Machine Learning techniques.

At Amazon, Uma was Director of Software Development for Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers worldwide during their explosive growth phase, and also led Amazon’s Global Catalog Systems and helped launch amazon in Italy and Spain. Uma also helped seed multiple development centers for amazon at Mississauga, Toronto, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. She started her career at amazon being one among the first senior women software development engineering leaders responsible for architecting and building amazon's in-house CRM technology in addition to launching amazon Wireless store, Auctions and 3P initiatives and Amazon Japan.

While at Microsoft, Uma shipped multiple software products at  Live Labs, Microsoft Unified Communications Platform and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online group.  Prior to that, at Walmart, she worked for their fabled Supply Chain/Logistics  Systems division at Bentonville, Arkansas and launched the first internet based transportation systems in addition to working on some of the complex network optimization algorithmic challenges for the Wal-Mart Transportation network.  She began her career as a Software Engineer with Daimler Chrysler at Warren, Michigan. She is also an active angel investor with Seattle TiE Angel Group. Uma has a Master’s  in Computer Science from Wayne State University, Michigan (CS: 1994) and a Bachelor's in Engineering from Bangalore University, India. She is sought out as a key CTO speaker at large technology conferences and privacy conferences around the world.

Outside of Uma's passion for Distributed Computing and Computer Science in general, she enjoys reading, cooking, volunteering and backpacking around the world especially with her college going daughter.
