Department of Computer Science welcomes area youth for summer camp programs

PHOTO RELEASE (July 11, 2012) - Wayne State University's College of Engineering and its Department of Computer Science welcomed more than 80 students for its annual youth summer camp programs this week. Students, ranging in age from 9-18, enrolled in the camps to learn more about web technology, robotics, animation, computer gaming, tech toys and phone apps.

"We are thrilled to offer our summer camps again this year," said Seymour Wolfson, interim chair of the Department of Computer Science. "Our camps allow area youth to gain a better understanding of the types of fields one can pursue with a computer science degree. There is such great opportunity in this field of study, and it is important that we do our part to educate the next generation of all the possibilities out there."

Camps began Monday and run through July 26.
