Global Executive Track Ph.D. Student Launches AI Startup Company
Mark Crawford, a doctoral student in the Global Executive Track of the Industrial and Systems Engineering department, recently launched Interplai, a startup company that aims to increase delivery efficiency with the use of smart robots. The company uses artificial intelligence and a multi-robot system to tackle last mile delivery costs, which make up over 53% of total transport costs in deliveries.
"I'm very excited, as the technology foundation for the company is built upon my area of research," said Crawford, "...we've had a really good response from the investment community and potential corporate partners."
Interplai was recently chosen by Plug and Play, an innovation platform built to connect startups with leading corporations, to participate in its mobility innovation platform. The collaboration is a great success, considering the mobility innovation platform has a five percent acceptance rate.
