Michele Grimm

undergraduate program chair and associate professor of biomedical engineering, received the College of Engineering's Excellence in Teaching Award. Grimm was recognized for her leadership of the new and highly successful Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering Program. Established in 2012, this unique program uses learning communities and active learning design challenges to improve student learning. With her efforts, the program demonstrated a 95% retention rate for the first year class returning to the second year of the program.
