Wayne State University’s student community is one of its greatest strengths. We are committed to helping every student access opportunities and stand out as a strong candidate and future employee. We believe organizations thrive when they provide equal opportunities, encourage diverse perspectives, and incorporate those perspectives into decision-making. We help students build confidence in embracing their unique qualities and prepare them for success in the workforce.
As an engineering student, one of your most important tasks is securing an internship or job. Employers often look for candidates with some level of experience, even for entry-level positions. Internships or co-ops are the most direct way to gain this experience, though hands-on activities in school can also be valuable. Given the focus on hands-on learning, it’s important to know how to find the best opportunities. The Engineering Career Resource Center can help guide you to the resources that will support your search for an internship or job.

Highlights
As an engineering student, going to school in Detroit provides an extra level of opportunity to learn and find internships especially within the automotive industry. There are also a great deal of fun activities, sporting events, and art and historical venues to attend in close proximity to the university.
