Louis R. Ross retired from Ford Motor Company in 1996. He had been vice chairman since 1993 and most famously oversaw the introduction of the popular Ford Taurus.

He joined Ford in 1955 as a research engineer and held several positions before being elected a company vice president in 1975.

Louis graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State and an MBA from Michigan State University. He received MSU's 1980 Outstanding Alumnus Award.

Louis passed away in 1999 at the age of 67.
