Chemical Engineering and Materials Science

Joseph Boelter, a native of Allen Park, Mich., earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Wayne State University in 1965 and Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1966. Joe began his career at General Electric's Silicone Products Division as a process engineer, and then moved into Technical Service and ultimately sales and marketing. He moved to the Plastics Division in 1980 as Marketing Manager and left GE in 1982 after 16 years of service.

From 1985 to 1996, Joe was the Business Director for several Business Units at BASF Corporation. In 1996, he joined International Specialty Products as Vice President of the Global Industrial Chemicals Business. In 1998, he became the Chief Operating Officer of Geo Specialty Chemicals.

In 1999, Joe founded his own business, Management Recruiters of Plymouth, a franchisee of Management Recruiters International. Management Recruiters of Plymouth recruits and places engineering and other technical professionals in positions in chemical, auto, plastics, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, energy, coatings and personal care industries. He currently has office locations in both Northville and Spruce Michigan.

Throughout his career in the chemical products industry, Joe has been involved in introducing, improving and promoting what eventually became everyday product improvements and new technology in the chemical and other material related industries, including silicone technology, chemical intermediates, coatings, pharmaceutical ingredients and plastics. Since 1999, he has provided top talent who develops and improves materials technology in a broad range of industries to companies across the globe.
