Priyaranjan Prasad received a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State in 1968 and a PhD in biomechanics in 1973.
A specialist in biomechanics and automotive safety, Priyaranjan has been working as a researcher at Ford since 1973. He is the recipient of the Henry Ford Technical Award for Side Impact Model and the NHTSA Engineering Excellence Award for Safety. An SAE Fellow, Priyaranjan is a member of NHTSA's Biomechanics and Crashworthiness Sub-Committee of the Motor Vehicle Safety Research Advisory Committee.
