William H. Osborne - Hall of Fame 2008

William H. Osborne graduated in 1987 with a master's degree in mechanical engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from GMI Engineering & Management Institute and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Osborne had a long career with Ford Motor Company and held a variety of roles in product design, development and engineering, and was vehicle line director for the mid-size sedan platform, and manufacturing operations manager at the Romeo Engine Plant. He led the V-Engine design of powertrain operations, the Engine System activity for Duratec V-6 engines, and Ford's advanced powertrain activities in noise and vibration research.
In 2005, William was appointed president and CEO of Ford Canada Limited and under his leadership Ford moved to manufacturing hybrid technology vehicles in Canada. He was president and CEO of Ford Australia and now is president and chief executive officer of the Federal Signal Corp.
