Doug Szopo - Hall of Fame 2010

Doug Szopo is the Executive Director of Global Product Planning and Strategy. He was appointed to this position in February 2007.
Prior to this assignment, Doug was the Executive Director of Product, Manufacturing and Business Office for the Americas. He was appointed to this position in March 2003. During his 40+ year career at Ford Motor Company, Doug has held a variety of positions in Manufacturing, Product Engineering and Product Planning. Most notable of these positions was Plant Manager of the Dearborn Engine and Fuel Tank Plant, Design Manager for the Duratec Engine, Pre-Program Manager for Advanced Powertrain Systems Engineering and his current position leading Global Product Planning and Strategy for Ford Motor Company.
Doug received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Western Michigan University and a Master's Degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University. He is an avid sports fan, enjoys sailing and spending time with his family and friends at his home on Lake Huron, in Port Sanilac, Michigan. Doug grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, and now resides with his wife Janet in Northville, Michigan.
